Throw The Racquet Into The Ball For More Power

If you want to control the ball in tennis while still hit it with power, you'll need to work with throwing and pushing ratios rather then think about tennis stroke technique.

The throwing part gives you lots of power while the pushing part helps you control the ball.

The ratio between throwing and pushing constantly changes as we adjust to different balls.

The reason why most tennis players push too much is because they want too much control.

Only when you are mentally able to let go more, you can also throw more.

The long term goal is to move towards letting go and throwing more when it comes to your tennis strokes.

How Ideal Contact Point Unlocks The Power Of Tennis Strokes

While tennis technique, meaning the mechanics of the stroke, are crucial for beginners to acquire some basic skills, it's not the answer for hitting powerful shots.

You can only hit with effortless power and control if you hit the ball in your ideal contact point.

And even though that's so challenging, since every incoming ball is different, most players don't devote any time to working on this part of their game.

Another key aspect of tennis is hitting in the sweet spot and you can improve your ability to do that by paying attention to how it feels when you hit the ball.

How To Return Fast Serves

How To Return Fast Serves In Tennis - Tennis Lesson. The return of serve in tennis is the second most important shot after the serve itself. One of the most commonly asked questions we get is "How do I return fast serves in tennis?". In this video Top Tennis Training coach Simon Konov will help you to deal with fast serves in tennis. Two of the common errors we see players making when trying to return fast serves in tennis is:
1. They use too big of a back swing when preparing to return those fast serves in tennis
2. They move backwards to hit the return, often falling off the ball when they make contact.
What we want to feel is that we are going forwards to meet the ball out in front using a small take back so we create time for ourselves on the ball instead of taking time away from ourselves with a big swing.
By using the small swing we will be able to make contact out in front and have our body weight going frowards to support our racket at the point of contact.
